With Colombia: Standing Together After the Earthquake
Updated: 6 days ago

The recent earthquake has left communities across Colombia facing an unimaginably difficult moment. In Pereira and throughout the affected region, families, healthcare workers, first responders, local businesses and neighbours are confronting loss, uncertainty and the long work of recovery.
At Sansavi, our thoughts are with every person affected by this tragedy — especially those who have lost loved ones, homes, livelihoods or a sense of safety. We also stand with the rescue teams, medical professionals and volunteers who continue to show up for their communities with extraordinary care and courage.
Sansavi was created because we believe Colombia’s healthcare professionals, clinics and cities deserve to be known for what they truly are: skilled, warm, resilient and deeply human. Today, that belief means more than helping international patients make informed choices. It means standing beside the people and places that make this country exceptional.
Recovery will take time. It must be led by local communities, guided by official authorities and centred on the safety and dignity of those most affected. But when the time is right, we want to be part of the effort to help Colombia move forward — by sharing accurate information, highlighting responsible providers, supporting local professionals and encouraging informed, respectful travel.
Pereira and the Coffee Region have long welcomed people with generosity, expertise and a remarkable sense of community. The road ahead may be difficult, but the strength of these communities is already visible in the care people are showing one another.
For patients and travellers with upcoming plans in Colombia, we encourage you to confirm arrangements directly with your clinic, airline, accommodation provider and insurer before travelling. Please follow updates from official Colombian authorities, and make safety your first priority.
Sansavi remains committed to responsible information, to the professionals who care for patients every day, and to Colombia’s recovery. We will continue to listen, verify and share guidance that helps people make thoughtful decisions.
Colombia is more than a destination. It is a community of people. And in this moment, we stand with it.
