SANSAVI — Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 27 2026 Last updated: July 27 2026 Version: 1.0

1. Who we are

SANSAVI ("SANSAVI," "we," "us") is an independent editorial publication covering medical, dental and aesthetic care in Colombia.

For the purposes of Colombian Law 1581 of 2012, the Responsable del Tratamiento (data controller) is:

  • Legal name: [REGISTERED ENTITY NAME]

  • Identification: [NIT / cédula]

  • Address: [PHYSICAL ADDRESS — required, and it must be real]

  • Email: [privacy@sansavi.com]

  • Phone: [PHONE]

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It applies to our website, our newsletter, and our quarterly issues.

2. What we are not

SANSAVI is a magazine. We are not a clinic, hospital, medical practice, patient broker, booking agency or travel agency. We do not provide medical services, we do not arrange treatment, and we do not act as an intermediary between you and any provider.

This matters for your privacy: we do not want, ask for, or knowingly collect information about your health. We do not ask which procedure you are considering, your medical history, your diagnoses, your photographs, or your treatment plans. Please do not send us this information. If you send it to us anyway, we will delete it rather than store it.

Under Colombian law, health data is sensitive personal data subject to heightened protection. We have deliberately built SANSAVI so that we never hold any.

3. What we collect

When you subscribe to our newsletter or issues:

  • Email address

  • First name, if you choose to give it

  • The language edition you selected

  • The date, time and method of your consent

When you contact us:

  • Your name, email address, and whatever you choose to write to us

Automatically, when you visit the site:

  • IP address (which may be truncated or anonymized depending on settings)

  • Browser type, device type, operating system, and screen size

  • Pages viewed, time on page, and the site or link that referred you

  • Approximate location at city or country level, derived from IP — never precise GPS location

When you submit a form for any other purpose (for example, a specialist or clinic applying to be considered for coverage): the contact and professional details requested on that form.

We do not collect: payment card details (we sell nothing on this site), government identification numbers, precise location, biometric data, or any special category or sensitive data as defined by Colombian Law 1581, the EU GDPR, or applicable U.S. state law.

4. Why we collect it

We process personal data for these specific purposes and no others:

  1. To send you the SANSAVI newsletter and quarterly issues that you asked for

  2. To respond to messages and inquiries you send us

  3. To understand which articles are read, so we can commission better ones

  4. To keep the site secure and functioning, and to detect abuse

  5. To comply with legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your email address with clinics, doctors, agencies or advertisers. We do not operate "lead generation" — meaning that no provider mentioned in our pages receives your contact details from us, ever, whether paid or unpaid.

If this ever changes, we will say so in advance and ask for your consent separately. It will not be buried in a policy update.

5. Our legal basis

Under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012, we process your data on the basis of the prior, express and informed authorization you give when you tick the subscription box or send us a message. Your authorization is voluntary, and you may withdraw it at any time.

For readers in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases under the GDPR are consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for the newsletter and non-essential cookies, and legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for site security and aggregate analytics.

For readers in U.S. states with applicable privacy laws, we process data as described in this policy and honor the rights described in Section 10.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our site is built and hosted on Wix, which sets certain cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function, including for security and session management. These cannot be switched off.

We also use [ANALYTICS TOOL — e.g. Wix Analytics / Google Analytics 4] to understand traffic in aggregate.

[IF YOU USE ANY MARKETING OR ADVERTISING PIXEL — Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads — YOU MUST NAME IT HERE. If you use none, say so, and that is a genuine trust advantage worth stating plainly.]

Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can decline them without losing access to any part of the site. You can also clear or block cookies through your browser settings.

7. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only to the extent needed to do their job:

ProviderPurposeLocation

Wix.com Ltd.Website hosting, forms, site analytics[Israel / EU / US]

[EMAIL PLATFORM — e.g. Mailchimp, Brevo]Sending the newsletter and issues[COUNTRY]

[ANY OTHER — analytics, CRM][PURPOSE][COUNTRY]

We may also disclose data if we are legally required to do so by a competent authority, or where necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

That is the complete list. No one else receives your data.

8. International transfers

SANSAVI operates from Colombia and our service providers operate from [COUNTRIES]. This means your personal data may be transferred outside your country of residence.

Colombian Law 1581 permits international transfer where the recipient country provides adequate protection or where you have given express authorization. For transfers from the EEA or UK, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, as applicable to each provider.

9. How long we keep it

  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to honor your unsubscribe request and to demonstrate that consent existed. If you do not open a single email for [24] months, we will delete you from the list rather than keep emailing you.

  • Messages you send us: [24] months from our last exchange

  • Analytics data: [14] months, in aggregate form

  • Anything we must keep by law: for as long as the law requires

10. Your rights

If you are in Colombia, Law 1581 of 2012 gives you the right to know, update, rectify and delete your personal data; to request proof of the authorization you gave; to be informed how it has been used; to file a complaint with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC); and to revoke your authorization at any time.

We will answer a consulta (a request to see your data) within 10 business days. If we cannot, we will tell you why and answer within a further 5 business days at most.

We will answer a reclamo (a request to correct, delete, or object) within 15 business days. If we cannot, we will tell you why and answer within a further 8 business days at most.

Please note that under Article 16 of Law 1581, you must raise the matter with us first before filing a complaint with the SIC. We would rather fix it than have you need to.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

If you are in California or another U.S. state with an applicable privacy law, you have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, to request correction, and to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the right exists and we honor it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.

11. How to exercise your rights

Email [privacy@sansavi.com] with your request. Tell us what you want and which email address you subscribed with.

We will respond within the timeframes above and will not charge you. We may ask you to confirm your identity — normally just by replying from the address you subscribed with, since that is all we hold.

To unsubscribe, you can also use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email we send. It works immediately, and it is the fastest route.

12. Security

We use [HTTPS/TLS encryption, access controls limited to named individuals, and reputable providers with their own security certifications] to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but the best protection we offer is that we hold very little: for most readers, an email address and nothing more.

If a breach occurs that puts your rights at risk, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

13. Children

SANSAVI is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.

Note that Colombian law prohibits cosmetic surgery on minors for aesthetic purposes, and SANSAVI does not publish content directed at minors.

14. Links to other sites

Our articles link to government registries, medical societies, clinics and other third-party sites. Once you leave sansavi.com, this policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any site we link to, including those of any specialist or clinic we cover.

15. Editorial independence and no medical advice

SANSAVI is an independent editorial publication. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and reading it does not create a doctor-patient relationship between you and anyone. Always confirm a specialist's credentials directly and consult a qualified physician before any procedure.

[IF YOU EVER ACCEPT PAID PLACEMENT, ADVERTISING OR AFFILIATE REVENUE, DISCLOSE IT HERE IN PLAIN LANGUAGE. Readers forgive commerce. They do not forgive discovering it themselves.]

16. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for any change that materially affects how we use your data, notify subscribers by email before it takes effect.
